He doesn't realize the effect the working long hours has doe to him. And though as Dorian his personality may come off as darker, Drew's twisted thoughts don't come out as clear as that as Dorian. No, they stick to his head ,mostly. A voice inside his head, like he has two personalities. He can be a very optimistic person or at least appear as one. He enjoys art and creating it and the frames they go in. He loves throwing gatherings, though rarely invites that involve dancing.
History: He comes from a land of black and white. Born to a woman with a wicked heart and a man who was too kind for his own good. From a young age he found himself to be an artist, but with living in a black and white world one could only do so much. He found himself getting interested in science to figure out a way to bring color back to the world. Whether it was curse that was placed on his home land or it was just naturally black and white, he knew there had to be color.
Growing up he found himself torn between good and evil. A Momma's boy, he always wanted to make his mother proud, but at the same time he didn't want to become as evil as she. Dorian focused his life on trying to bring color back to his work, but ended up giving up an finding love for sculpture and carpentry. He would stay up late creating things that you could see the beauty in them with out needing color to help inspire. Yet he grew frustrated with it very fast. It was around this time that he had run in to a fellow believer in science, Dr. Frankenstein.
As he spent more and more time with Dr. Frankenstein discussing theories his mother killed his father. When Dorian learned of this his mother told him it was for his own good, that his father was against his looking for change for the world. Little did he realize she had her own reasons for wanting color back. It didn't really matter the reason why she did it and even though he hated her for it she was the only family he had at the present time. As if fate had been in play Igor, Dr. Frankensteins assistant had somehow fallen in love with his mother. Of course, Dorian figured it was a scheme that his mother had orchestrated.
Igor has a daughter named Arwen, but in this life she is named Meryl. Dorian, before his mom had managed to get Igor to tie the knot with her, had liked Arwen. They had many private moments in the garden, where he found himself wanting to impress her. She was the one who made him aware of how beautiful he was even in gray scale. They were about to share their first kiss and move away from the friend zone when her father and his mother showed up and spoke of them getting married and that was that.
Dorian went into town one day and found someone that seemed to know he could use some help beyond the sciences. A man with a special hat by the name of Fonos. Angry at the world and with nothing to loose the artist traveled with the man back to a land full of color. The Enchanted Forest had so many wonderful colors, things that he could actually see and not have to imagine. He could not love the woman he wanted to because now they were to be related and he had no luck with the sciences, there was nothing that made him feel he needed to go back to his world. Little did he realize he wasn't actually blood related to his so called mother. He was given up from another world.
He traveled the forest, used natural materials and turned it in to paint. He sold his painting in the markets and used the money to buy himself food. A local family finally took him and he stayed there for almost seven months, before he found himself in the middle of bargaining for the lives of those that took him in. This bargain led him to Regina Mills. Little did he know, nor doe either of them know to this day, that this woman was his true mother. That he had been the baby Cora had gotten out of Regina's life. When Cora found out about Regina's pregnancy with Daniel's baby, she hid her ever growing pregnant body from site of the world. Cora took the baby boy and disappeared leaving Regina childless and the baby boy to believe he was from a world of black and white.
Whether Regina kept her promise or not to keep the family that took him alive he doesn't know, but that family soon escaped his mind. Regina became like family, even if he felt like a pet you tried to hide from the world. There were similarities between him and Regina, but there were differences as well. He seemed to find more beauty in the world than she did, but he also understood her frustrations. Regina had a portrait made of him as a 'welcome' to your new home gift. She got him jars of herbs and natural ingredients that he could use to paint with. He had a giant room to himself that he could just sculpt or make picture frames or even paint. He grew to like it there, but after a rough week, he found himself doubting his skills and how far he could get by with out his looks. He needed space from Regina and Regina was suddenly allowing him to go off, believing that she had won him offer. Regina in fact had won him over, but after being gone for so long it must have helped fuel the reasonings behind a curse. When word got his way the queen was going to curse the lands he headed back, but he was no where near close when the curse came. The curse didn't make it to where he was, but he would eventually find himself in Storybrooke years after placing a spell on his portrait, one of the possessions he had left Regina' with. His portrait would now age instead of him.
Here in Storybrooke his name is Drew. He is a local artist that owns the art gallery.
