The Dark Cloud that hung over Camelot was now gone and most of the people had begun to rejoice, that the cruel tyrant that was Uther Pendragon had been slain by a magical sorceress, from a family of people he had prosecuted throughout his entire reign, something Merlin believed to be incredibly poetic and he quite enjoyed the justice of it. Sadly as was expected of him he had gone and killed the Sorceress in return, not something he was happy to do, but it was a sign of some respect he still held for the late Pendragon king. Magic now was free to roam the kingdom once more, free of persecution and suspicion, Merlin was finally free to do more for the kingdom and rebuild its image in the eyes of it's once Allies, alliances that Uther Pendragon had torn down. That his father before him had built and brought years and years of peace and prosperity for, Merlin now had to make those ties again.
While many of the people within the kingdom both Rejoiced and Mourned for the death of their king, the High court and the people within the castle of Camelot had been thrown in to disarray because they believed there was no heir, they was struggling to find a replacement, some sort of person who was part of the royal family but not the direct line. Merlin however had quickly made his move and taken the Regency, no one argued he made an excellent case about how being quite close to many of the kings he knew what it took. Merlin had been there to guide them all or at least most of them, and now he would help in the search for an heir, though he was holding off as he wanted to see what type of man Uther's heir would be. Yes Arthur was alive Merlin had been the one to play a hand in the death of the king's wife, and made everyone believe that his son had died with her, no one knew it had been on his orders and he had no remorse for it, it needed to be done after all His Son could not be raised in Uther's care and while he got on with Igraine she loved Uther too much.
Merlin for now though needed to attend to the matters of Kingdoms Allies so he had sent a missive to one of the other kingdom's the one that held king Leopold, he needed strong allies and the kingdom seemed strong enough, though he was sure a dark force had entered there recently but at the moment he didn't care as long as it posed no harm to Camelot. He soon himself got a missive back that they would be glad to make an alliance with the kingdom, it seemed he would come with his young daughter and his new Wife Regina. It had taken a few days but they were here now and that all that mattered. Right now he was loving this form of control, this control over Camelot.
Merlin had been talking to one of the High Court members about the army and how it might need a bit of change to it when a messenger who was rather out of breath ran into the throne room "My Lord Merlin they have arrived," Merlin turned and smiled and beckoned the high court member to follow him, as he walked his long cloak swished around and his White Staff rattled across the floor, he looked young and most always believed him to be so, he wondered how the visitors would take him. "Let us go greet them then," He walked slowly out of the room before stopping and vanishing in White smoke to appear outside at the castle gates. "Open the gate's By Order of the Regent!" He Shouted watching as the gates opened and their guests arrived.

that anyone can change her life. At fourteen years old, Snow White had learned a lot about loss, but she didn't have even a small concept of the loss she would one day experience. She was a happy teenager, although a teenager never the less. Her father was the King, and she had a stepmother that she loved very much. Although Regina was not her mother, and no one could ever ever replace Eva - Snow had still found beautiful things about her stepmother. From the moment they met, the young girl knew that Regina had a good heart. The proof was in her eyes. It was in the way she rebelled against her mother's dark magic. There had been a moment in time that Snow thought she would have to live without her stepmother, who had plans to run off with the stable boy, Daniel. Although she ad been disappointed that Regina wouldn't be the new Queen, she wanted more than anything for her to be happy with someone that she loved.
But…it didn't happen. Daniel ran away, and Regina married her father. Snow White never knew the details of the whole thing, but she had learned never to be nosy when it came to the affairs of adults. There were a lot of the things in the castle that she just wasn't allowed to be a part of because of her age. It wasn't like she was with her father when he was making decisions about the kingdom. She hardly thought it was her place to question the personal lives of the people that she so admired. Snow White had been raised well by Queen Eva, and her heart was big…but she was still young and naive. She didn't realize that her stepmother despised her, and was often times even jealous of her. The resentment grew every day, but the fourteen year old girl was completely ignorant to that fact.
Snow White saw Regina as a beautiful woman who had poise and elegance. She saw a kind heart, even if she preferred for things to be traditional - but that was not much different from her father. When she saw them together, she thought she saw love. She had no idea that love didn't exist between them at all. It was an act, and it would have broken her heart to learn as much. The small family did a bit of traveling from time to time - usually when they were keeping up with alliances, or else forming new ones.
Merlin, the King Regent of Camelot had invited them to visit their Kingdom. For many many years, King Leopold had not kept alliances with this kingdom. There was not any open hostility, but it had become known as a city of discrimination. King Uther did not want magic in his city walls, and the people who practiced it had been persecuted, and many of them killed. Snow White had not known the reason why Camelot had never been a friend to her father, but she knew that they were visiting now under delicate circumstances. When they arrived at the Kingdom she looked around and took it all in. She was used to splendor and magnificence, and Camelot was not short of it either.
The massive doors opened, and they were escorted into the throne room. Snow White followed behind King Leopold and his Queen. When they reached the King Regent, Snow White curtsied politely the same way she does before her father and step mother. But, she had learned over the years, especially since Regina had become Queen - that she wasn't meant to speak until she was spoken to in such formal situations. The wild part of Snow's heart just wanted to go explore the new castle, but she would have to endure the pleasantries and feasts in proper form, first. 0640! family, merlin! camelot! wearing!

Another day pretending to be Leopold's loving wife as he made spoke with government officials and made alliances she rarely ever had any interest in. This time they were traveling to the kingdom of Camelot to cultivate alliances with the kingdom's new regent. From what some of Leopold's advisors had told her, Camelot had not been an ally of their kingdom for quite some time, but now the old king had died and his advisor had taken charge of the kingdom, sending a missive requesting an alliance. While she had never been under any illusion that Leopold cared for her, that she was anything than Snow White's glorified babysitter, it spoke volumes to her that she had to rely on his advisors for this sort of information. That he wouldn't trouble himself to tell his wife this on his own.
She didn't bother paying attention when they stopped in front of the castle gates and a male voice informed Camelot's guards who they were. Instead she just smiled over at the young Snow White, nearly five years her junior. She was surrounded by people from Leopold's kingdom after all, and that meant playing the part of a loving wife and a doting stepmother to the little brat who had ruined her life. Once they were escorted to the throne room she curtsied politely, wondering about the boy in front of them. Was this truly the regent of Camelot? He looked so young! Of course, it wasn't uncommon that a young person would take the throne if they were the heir to the previous ruler, but from what she had heard on the journey here that was not the case in this situation. Despite his apparent youth however, his eyes showed intelligence and he emanated power. In a way, he reminded her of her teacher Rumplestilskin. Was it possible that this man, much like her teacher, was older than he appeared to be? She looked at the man thoughtfully for a moment before turning her head to look at her dear husband, as if waiting to see what he would do next.

As soon as the gate's had opened and the royal carriage and their entourage arrived in the courtyard , he waited silently for the king to get out before telling the Commander of Army's to see to them and their servants, before he himself retreated back into the castle and into the court room. As he walked the halls he brought up his hands as if he was leading people but instead he was using magic, to enchant and brighten the corridors and the whole castle, flowers of all kinds sprung up alighting the walls, the rooms lit up flickering in the candle light. The royal colours shone brightly in every room and adorned every wall of the castle, the Throne room itself was decorated in the royal colours fit with cloths from every kingdom, and on one side of the room grew a spectacularly beautiful apple tree. The floor itself by the time the Royals from the Kingdom of Amare arrived was now shining brightly, with the colours of the floor changing as they stepped upon each tile and just before the throne itself a floral pattern appeared suddenly expanding, outwards and then inwards and repeating, there were small round tables each one with a goblet for the three new arrivals. The Mage watched as all the royals walked into the court room he had decided for now to leave the throne empty, and he himself looked around to make sure everything was in place, and he quickly whispered to one of the council members, it took a while to get an answer but the entertainment and the food would be ready soon enough. Soon was good for now they just needed the introduction's out of the way, the formal signing of the alliance would be the end of the day after the guests had been treated with proper respect, that they and their status was due. Today was a day of celebration throughout the two kingdom's or would be when the alliance was signed, the re-establish the treaty Uther tore down was a momentous occasion. Please Welcome his Royal Highness King Leopold of Amare, Queen Regina of Amare, and Princess Snow White of Amare, came the loud voice of Royal announcer before he then took his leave of them and shut the door behind him to make his preparation's. One of the other council member's took a step forward to introduce Merlin but he held up his hand. No words were traded the member just simply looked at his hand and gave a sharp nod, taking Merlin's authority and stepping back. He looked now at the royal visitors and smiles his eyes sparkling as the king bowed to him. He bowed in return before, walking then to the Queen, his eyes searching her face seeing her beauty. "Your Queen is very beautiful your highness," he told the king before turning directly to her as to speak to her, taking her hand kissing it politely out of respect, "certainly a rare flower, it's as if Camelot brightens at your arrival your majesty , I trust you a treated well?" He smiled at her politely and he felt it, the wave of power, not huge not yet, but the dark magic was there, so he tried telepathy. "A Student of the dark one? Your magical is as Tempting as you are beautiful, I hope your King treats you well, I hear he lost his last Queen, your not being treated ill are you, that would be a terrible fate." This bit was private between them no one else could hear it. He walked to the middle and bowed once more, "welcome king Leopold I am glad you could make it, My Name is Merlin, Regent of Camelot and The White Mage, be safe here, and these people are the High Council," he gestured to the council members before resting his eyes on Snow and bending down to her level. His eyes soft and full of kindness, he was always kind to the young, the innocent, whose lives had yet to be lived, who was full of hope and joy. " And who is this? The young Snow White? It's such a pleasure to meet you child," he brought his hand forward a small white tulip appearing in one and as he brought the other a necklace. "For you, a gift from the White Mage." He also nodded to two goblets for the Queen and the King. "And a refreshing drink after your journey, it should taste of whatever you so desire most"

that anyone can change her life. Snow White had grown up learning the duties of a princess. Her mother had been the guiding hand during her youngest years. She taught her that no title or crown made her better than the people who looked to her to lead. Her position in the kingdom was granted by the people, and that made them just as valuable as her - if not more so. Being princess - being queen, it was a privilege, but more than that it was a responsibility. As a result, she was pretty used to the formalities that came with it. Banquets, appearances, events, and meeting new people was par for the course. She'd gotten really good at remembering names, faces, and little details about the people that she met. After all, it wouldn't be very kind to call another royal by the wrong name or title.
The young girl missed her mother every single day - but she was so grateful to have Regina in her life. It wasn't the same relationship she had with Queen Eva. How could it be? But that didn't mean she compared the two often. It was a different relationship. Regina was closer to her age - which might creep her out a bit if that wasn't a completely normal thing in the land of royalty. It wasn't the age difference that really made their relationships so much different. It was also the fact that her stepmother seemed so much more distant. She wasn't necessarily outright mean…although, they had had their moments - but she didn't really seemed interested in Snow the way her own mother was…and that warmth she remembered Queen Eva having towards her all the time…she only found that in Regina on rare moments. But she knew that the Queen was a good person and that she had a good heart. Snow White loved her, no matter what.
The princess looked up between her father and her stepfather as the King Reagent greeted them. He paused for a moment in front of Regina, and didn't say anything out loud. She knew magic existed, but she did her best to forget that it did. She hadn't even fathomed it was anything other than him admiring her. Regina was beautiful, Snow told her as much…only to be shrugged off in manner as if her opinion didn't matter. Perhaps it didn't for Kings and Queens…but mothers and daughters…
The next person that Merlin approached was her, and she wasn't nearly as afraid as she thought she was going to be. He was famed for his magic and his wisdom. Ever since her mother died…and she was offered the dark magic to save her life, Snow had steered away from magic. In her dying words, Queen Eva told her how proud she was of her daughter for doing the right thing and not sacrificing someone else's life for hers. She'd told her that Snow had strength, and the young girl had carried that with her all these years. Strength to do the right thing. She had met very few magic users who followed the path of doing the right thing. Somewhere along the line…so many of them lost their hearts, sometimes literally. But Snow did not for one moment think they deserved the treatment that Uther Pendragon had subjected them to. No one deserved to be mistreated…and she could hardly blame them for wanting to be treated as equals rather than be executed.
Merlin didn't scare her the way she expected him to, and that was a relieving notion. He held out his hand to her and a tulip appeared in one hand and a necklace in the other. The trick was certainly impressive, and she nodded her head slightly in thanks as she took them from him. "Thank you, Reagent Merlin. It is lovely to meet you as well," she told him, her hand moving over the jeweled trinket. Without really thinking about it too much, she looked up at her father a little nervously. Magic always came with a price…what would be the price for her to have a pretty necklace? Perhaps nothing, perhaps to someone…everything? Snow didn't know a whole lot about magic, but she was glad that Merlin seemed a kind soul. At first glance, anyways. 0706! family, merlin! camelot! wearing!
