Alex sighed. She shook her head as she looked around her room. Today was a very important day. A day the kingdom either made an enemy or an ally. And Alex was hoping for the ally. Maybe…just maybe he could help her with her little problem. OK, so it was a big problem. She had been seventeen, just a few weeks after her birthday, and the Enchantress had entered their lives. All of them, her and her sisters, could see the evil magic used on him but no else could. Maybe he could help them. And then there was the scouts from another kingdom trying to find out all their secrets. Luckily, with Alex’s strategy, they haven’t found anything.
Alex was happy though. Finally she could find out how to defeat the Enchantress. Once she did, she could find out everything else. She was also happy because she could finally prove to her father that she could do this. She’d be the face of war. She’d be able to prove she was better than just a pretty face to look at. She knew her father worried about her, because she didn’t talk to any of boys very much. Her older sister was married, her little sister, the sixteen year old, was talking to boys, and well…she wasn’t. Alex hated that. She knew her father just wanted her to be happy and content but…she was. She didn’t need any guy to make her feel happy and special.
The seventeen strategist looked down at the maps. Camelot wasn’t all safe. Though, they sometimes thought it was. A lot of the people in Camelot, the ones that went to a lot of kingdoms, told of how Camelot would live forever and nothing would stop it from growing. That kind of egotistic people always got on her nerves. It would bring down a whole universe. That kind of acting. Hopefully the person she was meeting didn’t act like Camelot didn’t have any bad things happening. She always hated people like that. They acted like their kingdom would never be brought down. Kingdoms that thought that way would always be brought down.
Alex grinned a bit. She rolled up the maps and walked out of her room. As she walked she put her hair up in a pony, with the black hair whipping around her shoulders as she walked. She wore a deep blue dress, almost black, and black flats. What she wore was simple, nothing fancy. After all, this could be the start of a war between the two of them. As she walked she smiled at some of the servants that passed. She never treated them any less than she treated royalty. Others may think that was not right but if Alex was a servant, she’d be loyal to those who were nice to her. It wasn’t that she just wanted their loyalty, she wantedtheir friendship too. Even commoners could be wise beyond their years and help advise her in coming wars.
Alex wasn’t stupid. She knew war was like a dance. You make your move, they make theirs. She also knew wars would always come to those who were strong. Wars were made by jealous people. People who wanted more. Or, people looking for vengeance. Alex could only hope that they didn’t make others jealous or people vengeful for their blood on their sword. She stopped at the armory and grabbed her belt with her sheath. “Thank you.” She said to a servant her gave her the sword. She had it just in case the person tried anything. She walked to the war room and opened it. “Hello.” She said with a small smile.
She closed the door and smiled a bit more. “I’m sorry you had to come all this way. I could have met you somewhere in the middle. I know it’s a very long ride from Camelot to here.” Alex said with a small smile. She gestured for them to sit down and she did. “Let’s get to business.” She told the male. “I’m Princess Alexandria. But you can call me Alexandria or Alex.” She knew that to gain an ally, someone should always start off with pleasantries and setting a base of friendship of sorts. She waited for him to start talking about what they could do for them and what he could offer. Then she would state her side and what she needed help and what she could offer for him.
