Aurora couldn't remember a greater time than now. Her parents were allowing her to participate in the banquet that was being held for the spring season. It was a time of rebirth, rejuvenation, and renewal. It was also a time for those in the kingdom to come to the castle and see the King and Queen, the Princess as well. Aurora had been looking at her wardrobe nearly every hour to make sure the gown she had picked out especially for this banquet was still there. It always was.
Light purple with a shade of white muslin throughout the gown gave it an ethereal look; matched with lavender jewels and sparkling diamonds on her headband and Aurora was complete. As she moved down the grand stone steps into the massive banquet hall, the music from the musicians already flooding the hall. The murmur of the guests arriving grew louder and louder as Aurora continued down the steps, coming out at the left corner of the hall near her parents thrones. Her mother, beautiful as she was, seemed preoccupied, and her father jovial as ever watching the happenings going on.
She went and placed a light kiss on their cheeks before she moved to sit next to her mother, spending a few minutes listening to her talk about who was who and when the others would arrive. Before long, the music announcing the food erupted through the chatter, and Aurora watched as the servants brought tray after tray after tray of hot, steaming, savory smelling foods to the tables. Aurora and her family sat at the raised table, looking down at the rest of their guests as food was placed on their plates and served to them.
The chatter quelled just a bit as mouths filled with food, the sound of the musicians playing lively music echoing off the stone walls. It was certainly feeling like springtime in the castle, and Aurora could only look forward to the pleasant weather and beautiful blooms that were going to appear soon.
