"Really?" The tween whined. Her mother Mary-Ann had been up in the morning baking and Piper's mother only did baking when there was new neighbors or well of course a bake sale. Instead of saying anything her mother's face stare said it all, it was the 'Get you're ass over there now before I kick it.' A sigh escaped her lips but slowly Piper walked over to the kitchen table and picked up the apple pie. "Jacket." Piper groaned when her mother told her to put on the jacket. "They live in the same building I'm not going outside." She wanted to whine but her mother slightly turned from washing the dishes to give her that stare again but Piper gently placing down the bake good ran to her room and put her favorite light green jacket.
Returning to the kitchen she grabbed the pie without speaking a word to her mother in case she got the stare. Piper was not afraid of her mother okay maybe just a little but that was because she was more strict than her father and she just didn't put up with Piper bull. Piper closed the apartment door behind her and headed over to where the new neighbors lived. The blonde heard from when her parents were talking that were was a boy around her age. But at the moment Piper just wanted to get this over with and head to her friends for some video games. Normally Piper was excited meeting new people but her friend just got the newest video game that ever kid wanted. Finally she was at their door, Piper shifted to manage the bake good and to knock loud knock for someone to hear.

Henry and his mum had only just moved to New York, after a fire had burned down the apartment back in Boston, they had driven all the way to New York to try and make a fresh start, just the two of them together, and obviously get some new stuff while they were at it. Well they had some stuff but some of it was burnt in the fire. His mum had been able to buy a few new things though, such as a cool new game's system and games to play, he could not believe it when she got them, it was so awesome and he planned to play on it as much as possible between school that was. Which was another thing Henry would have to go to a new school, and make new friends, that should be easy enough and plus they had already gone down to a really good school and applied, they got in easy enough as there was a few spaces. Though he would not be going for a few days he had already met a boy called Avery and they had played some football once his mum had sorted out everything for school.
They had also moved in to a really nice apartment it had other people living in the other apartments but they had yet to meet them, but the place was awesome and he could not wait to get to know New York and the neighbours, he hoped they were friendly and easy enough to get on with, like the ones in Boston, they were nice people, always gave him sweets when they came over. Then there was his friend who was there but he had moved away as well something about a fire in his apartment as well, he wondered where he went.
At the moment he was the only one in the apartment, having started to make himself a drink of squash as his mum as down one of the stores trying to get some new furniture and not only that she was going to find her first New York case. He was in the midst of making squash when he heard a knock on the door. He didn't think his mum was expecting anyone but he answered anyway. He opened the door to see a girl, she looked his age, but she was maybe slightly older than him just. There was also something about her than when he looked at her there was a warmth. He instantly smiled "Hello."

Piper carefully moved the pie to the other hand as the bottom was getting pretty warm, her mother had just got out of the over only a hour or so ago. The best apple pie was a warm one and of course with some vanilla ice, Piper heard someone inside moving towards the door. Taking a few steps back the door opened to reveal a boy around her age actual she recognized him when she looked the boy over. She had caught a glimpse when she was heading to her class, the mother was a tall blonde and he was leaving the office. "Hi." She smiled brightly. "I'm Piper, I just live down the hall. My mother made this for you guys as welcoming to the building. I hope you guys like apple pie." She stood on the other side of the door looking at the boy, "So you going to invite me in?" She asked. Piper thought that her friends could wait for her a little longer. There was another kid in the building that she could become friends with, New York City was a busy town with little space for kids to actually run around in backyards like the town that she went to visit her grandmother on her father's side.

Just Henry Swan
For some reason Henry felt himself feeling slightly nervous when he looked at the girl, Henry was not entirely sure why he was feeling like this or what it was about this girl, he felt extremely happy that she was here even though he had no idea who she was. He just took it to mean that he was happy that there was someone near enough his own age around here, that he would have someone to do fun stuff with, other than his mom of course. Henry really liked that idea, and hopefully they would not have to move this time, meaning if this girl did become a friend he was intent in keeping this friend. He had already lost all his other friends he didn't want to make more and then lose them all over again.
"Hey Piper," Henry replied with a big friendly smile and he opened the door a little wider, deciding that there was no point in leaving it half closed. He felt like he should invite her in but he had yet to actually introduce himself. "Nice to meet you, my name's Henry, Henry Swan," he said before looking at the apple pie, wow it looked delicious and he loved apples. "Yeah I love Apple pie, thank you and your mum," He told her before looking back inside, "yeah sure come in, my mom's not in at the moment, but she wont mind." Well he assumed not, the girl was his age and he was sure she wasn't going to steal anything. He stood back and let her come in. "You want me to take the pie from you?" He asked.

Henry Swan she thought that was a very easy name to remember. Piper smiled politely back he seems like a good kid and her mother would approve of them hanging out Piper could see that. The girl did not have many friends she just did not seem not to get along with other girls, and the boys seem to like to pull pranks on the girl.
Actually there was one boy who decided to cut Piper ponytail during class. She wanted to be like Rapunzel in the bedtime story that her mother had told her as a little girl. Piper got her hair all the way down to her waist but all that hard work was cut and Piper cried for days.
Piper was brought out of her thoughts when he spoke again. “Don’t tell my mother that or she may bake you apple everything!” She laughed. When Henry offered to take the pie off her hands she was more than happy to pass it too Henry. “Are you sure? I don’t want you to get in trouble.” Piper knew most mothers did not want boys and girls to be in the same room alone so Piper was unsure.
