Name:
Keening Warg/Benjamin "Benjee" Wolfgang
Gender:
Male
Age:
26
Occupation:
Taxidermist
Family:
The Huntsman/Graham - Half Brother (doesn't know), Red Riding Hood/Ruby - "Sister", Widow Lucas/Granny - "Mother"
Friends:
Elizabeth "Lizard", Robin Hood, Knave of Hearts/Will Scarlett, Alice
Strengths: Hunting, Strong Willed, Determined
Weaknesses: Lying (though he has gotten better at controlling this), Short Tempered, Loner, Red/Ruby
Quote: "A liar will not be believed, even when he speaks the truth."
Personality: Keening is extremely short tempered. Saying the wrong thing to him or simply saying the wrong thing near him could lead to him hitting you. One subject he is very touchy about is the butchering of his name. Pronounce his name incorrectly and you can be sure you'll find yourself knocked on your arse, or at least he'll attempt to do so. Aside from his temper, he is actually quite a fun loving person. He enjoys practical jokes and April Fool's Day is one of his favorite holidays. You might not consider smoking a personality trait, but Keening does. To him, smoking is part of who he is. Without a pack of cigarettes and a lighter on his person, he considers himself incomplete. Most importantly, he is very loyal to family. That doesn't necessarily mean blood relations. There are a couple of people who he considers family simply because he grew up with them, and if you even consider harming them, beware his wraith.
History:
Keening was born on a small farm in the Enchanted Forest. His father died when he was young, so he was raised by his mother. Thankfully, with the farm being so small, it was easy to maintain. The hardest task fell to Keening, which was the shepherding of the sheep. Being a typical young male, he enjoyed playing pranks. His favorite prank was yelling about a wolf attack when there wasn't actually a wold. Even though his family wasn't exactly well off, Keening felt life couldn't be better. Then one day after he turned thirteen, something tragic happened. Keening had woke up and went to check on his sheep as usual, and found them slaughtered. Living in the town he did, he knew all about Wolf's Time. Therefore, he immediately assumed it was a werewolf that had killed his sheep. He ran back to the house to tell his mother, but spotted something he hadn't on his way to the sheep. His mother's body was laying near the corner of the house, split nearly in two. Keening fell to his knees and began to sob.
After he finally calmed down, he ran to his closest neighbor and best friend, Red. He told Granny and Red what happened and Granny took a couple of guys to clean up the mess. While they were gone, Red told Keening about the hunting parties that went out during Wolf's Time to find and kill the wolf. After hearing that story, Keening decided to start training. He went to the leader of the hunting party and begged to join and learn. After almost a month and a half of training, he realized that natural methods weren't going to be enough. Magic would be needed to take out the wolf. Knowing of only one person who could give him what he needed, he left the village and started looking for Rumplestiltskin. As it is with Rumple, the search didn't take long. Also as usual with Rumple, he requested something in return for the tools Keening needed. Keening offered Rumple the land that had passed into his possession following his mother's death. Rumple accepted and a deal was struck, with Rumples "gift" being a bow and a quiver of silver tipped arrows. An arrow fired from the bow never misses it's target and the quiver automatically refills when the last arrow is used.
Keening spent a few more years hunting and had a few chance encounters with until one fateful night he learned the sad truth about himself. He had always worn a jacket that his mother had given him. It had belonged to his father and was the only thing he had left from either of his parents. One fateful night, he forgot to put the jacket back on after bathing in a nearby creek. The full moon shone and he underwent the change for the first time. Many hours later he awoke in his human form many miles from the creek where his jacket lay. There was a trail of blood leading from where he had awoken to what was thankfully only a family of deer. Keening made his way back to his jacket, put it on, and then made his way to the only person he knew could explain this to him. He went back to his village to speak to Granny.
Once there he learned the truth of his bloodline. His father had been the great chief of a clan of werewolves, or what was left. Then one night, the clan was attacked without warning and all were slaughtered. Granny then explained to Keening about Red. She told him her history, and that she would understand, she would be able to help him. She supplied him with food and sent him after her. Keening made haste, but was not fast enough. Though he had been gaining ground and was almost near her, the evil queen's curse hit, sending him to Storybrooke.

During The Curse
Benjamin "Benjee" Wolfgang came into existence the same time as Storybrooke. A lonely taxidermist, he spent his days preparing, preserving, stuffing, and mounting animals for others. His nights were spent at the nearby bar, drinking his sorrows away. He made sure never to drink enough to get drunk, however. A significant trait of Benjee was to always be seen with a cigarette in his mouth. He also spent many a morning at Granny's diner, never realizing he knew them.
After The Curse
He was inside his shop and his memories came flooding back. Keening ran outside and straight to Granny's diner, where he reunited with she and Red. He was overjoyed at the fact that he had finally found Red again and wasted little time in explaining his situation. Red told him not to worry, and after she regained control of her own abilities, she helped Keening learn how to control his. Since the three were reunited, Keening moved into one of the rooms at Granny's bed and breakfast.
A few weeks later, Keening spotted something intriguing. A man he recognized from his run ins with Robin Hood was inside Granny's diner late at night, well after the diner had closed. Keening stepped in just as a portal was beginning to close. He jumped through and barely made it. Knave would reveal the reasons for going through the portal to Keening and Keening would in turn vow to help. The two, along with the white rabbit, arrived in the asylum where Alice was being held. They would reveal that Cyrus is alive and the four would travel to Wonderland together.
\ Keening traveled with them for a couple of days before he suggested they should split up and he went off on his own. He spent a bit of time looking for Cyrus on his own, but had no success. He decided it was time to get back together with Alice and Will and set out to find them. While in pursuit, he met the most amazing woman ever. She had such a zest for adventure, he couldn't help but to be drawn to her. The two spent many a night together, until sadly, on a moonlit night, they were ripped from each other when Keening was taken into custody by the red queen's knights. They weren't as smart as he though, and he easily escaped.
He spent the next weeks searching for Lizard, and when he finally found her, his heart stopped. Her body looked lifeless, but he wouldn't believe her to be dead. Keening did the only thing he thought might work, and he kissed her. It was obvious from that point it was true love, as she awoke and embraced him. The two set off to find Alice and Will together, but never made it. The curse that Pan enacted in Stroybrooke effected Wonderland as well, and Keening was dragged back to his homeland of the Enchanted Forest. A year later, he is now in Storybrooke reunited with Lizard, but with no memory of what happened during the past year.
