Family: Father : Triton Sister: Ariel
Strengths: Swimming, Cleverness, Ability to communicate with sea creatures, fishing/hunting skills
Weaknesses: his family, sunken ships, speeches
Quote: "Ariel, you heard father, it's too dangerous"
Personality: He's a lot like his twin sister, except being the one that would take over if something were to happen to Triton, he couldn't go off and wander. Unlike his sister, he keeps his thoughts of adventures to himself and tries not to indulge Ariel in her thoughts. He believes his father has a reason for thinking the things he does out of life experience and even if internally he feels his father is wrong, he is i his father and respects his wishes. He gets nervous in front of crowds, always has. He doesn't exude confidence and power like his father does. He doesn't believe in true loves kiss for anyone who has claimed to love him and kiss him has not broken the curse he in under.
History: He was born to King Triton and the woman who would have claimed Ariel as her daughter. Their mother died before Sebastian ever got to know her. He lived in the Palace and his father held strict rules about how far anyone should go outside the kingdom . He also had a set future for Sebastian, one that he wasn't sure he would be able to fulfill. While growing up, the siblings played games, such as tag and hide and go seek. Each with their own colorful imagination. Sebastian can still remember trying to play 'human' , which may or may not have sparked Ariel's fascination with people. Though his fascination was trying to make sounds into a pleasant beat. He was forced to grow up fast though and his father tried to get that music nonsense out of his mind, that princes could't do such things.
Their father split them up, Ariel had to try to spend time with the other female mermaids and Sebastian had to start shadowing his father. His father wanted him to address a speech to the people on his behalf , because he had other engagements to get to. He remembered being outside on the balcony, his hands shaking slightly. He managed to get out a couple of words, but he couldn't get himself to read on. He didn't exactly approve of what was written on the speech, but most importantly he was too afraid. All those eyes looking up on him. Instanly he felt like a coward, in his frustration with himself he swam off , just inbounds of the line his father said they should not cross. He had wished he could just hide away from that life, the life of being in the spotlight of being looked up to.
This was of course all in a moment of anger and fear, had he had actually had time to think everything over he would have gotten over it, but it was too late. Someone had over heard him, asked if it was really what he wanted, that he could get it for a price. He agreed and suddenly he was no longer a merman, but a crab. He could still talk, but this wasn't exactly what he had in mind. The cost of his wish was that he'd lost his family, his sister and only true friend. Everyone else only were nice to him to get on Triton's good side. After being turned into a grab he tried to walk back, in what might take a few minutes to swim back to would take much longer crawling sideways on the bottom of the ocean floor.
After eight minutes off walking he found himself feeling like danger was around. Instinct was to bury himself in the sand and with out even thinking about it in a uncontrolled manner he was hidden away as a creature he might normally call his friend came by. They would eat him for dinner, he knew this, because he had seen this very creature eat a pile of crabs the other day. He didn't want to be a crab any longer, he didn't want to hide every time instinct told him to. What kind of life had he just given himself? This wasn't one filled without fear, it was one with even more fear than disappointing his father. For weeks people started to search for the missing prince, but he was too ashamed of what had happened to allow them to find them.
Besides, part of him knew they wouldn't believe him. A few months later Ariel was swimming by, trying to get to a cavern she liked to put things in just outside the limit. He can still remember saying "And where do you think you are going?" His sister looking around saying his name. 'Sebastian! Sebastian where are you? The entire city looked for you?" Sebastian told her to look down on the rock and that was when his secret had come out. Ariel managed to convince him to come home that father wouldn't be mad, though he knew very well his father would be furious. His father searched for a way to break the spell so his song could once more return to his original form, but with no avail.
They kept it under wraps as much as possible and his father started to try to find sebastian's one true love. This process was interrupted though by the disappearance of Ariel, With the help of a fish named Flounder they set off to try to find her and when they did she had no voice. Ariel had been just as scared as he was when Ariel found him as a crab, it was his turn to be the encourager. As time passed, sebastian became less afraid of life and the things out in the ocean that could eat him at any time. He encouraged Ariel not to stray or answer the call from the shell, but it wasn't something one could really resist. After Regina had really given her legs to do with when she pleased, Ariel first came back to find her brother and tell him. He snuck into her bag and went with her to this other place.
Likes: fish, the idea of having feet, quiet time, being able to hear his own thoughts, being able to voice his own opinion, music
Dislikes: being stuck as a crab, sharks, the spot light, speeches, crowds
Roleplay Example: It's Graham
Lastly… When the curse is broken and he turns human, time will not have been suspended or him. He will look like he is meant to be at his age. Why and how that happens is unclear at this time.
