The brunette used her fingertips to brush her loose curls away that dangled in front of her face. A sad looked sat upon her face, for days something inside Evangeline told her that something was wrong, something was missing but she couldn't figure what it was. But she had to set that aside to focus on work at the hospital. Evangeline pushed back on her chair and walked over to the filing cabinet. Today was more of paperwork than hands on besides there was not a lot of things going on the hospital was pretty quite. Evangeline was sorting through the papers when a red hair nurse pop her head in and gave her a bright smile that nurse told Evangeline that she could head home for the rest of the day.
She was not going to argue so scooping her sweater and zipping it up, Evangeline exited the hospital. Living in the small town the woman did not see the need to own a car everything was basically in walking distance and if she ever needed to leave Storybrooke there was always the cab or perhaps a kind neighbor would help her. Evangeline walked down the sidewalk watching her white sneakers hit the pavement quietly. She walked around a couple as she headed to her house that was only a few blocks away but suddenly without warning Evangeline stopped. Flashes of memories came flooding back, memories that were hers and no one else. She was a little girl in a kitchen pushing on the chair towards the counter so she could reach the cookie jar and take a cookie that her mother had just freshly made the whole house smelled like fresh baked cookies. Evangeline was on the ground crying, her knee was bleed and her arm twisted while a horse ran off towards the field. The light touch of Ray's lips touching her own and the world was spinning around them.
A small gasp escaped her lips, the first emotion was terror. She would go back into the sky and Evangeline watched around her as people stopped, they laughed knowing who they were. But she was going back to be the Evening Star and she would be still all alone. Evangeline waited for what seemed like a forever and nothing happened she still had two hands, two legs, and a heartbeat. She thoughts began to wonder if she was in a land without magic maybe that is what was stopping the spell on her. Evangeline closed her eyes and a small smile crept on her lips this was what she wanted for so long to be human, to be back in her true form. The woman broke into full sprint not stopping for anyone, she brushed past people on the street. Evangeline kept going until she flew off the end of the dock and splashed into the cold water.

There were some days when the knowledge that her body and her memories of her life were completely out of sync became maddening. It was very rare for her, someone whom was the epitome of being coldly rational and calm to feel flustered or distressed. She awoke to the sounds of her parents speaking to each other. However they were not her parents. They were Severine's parents. Maleficent was not Severine. Or was she? That was the heart of the issue that had caused her so much angst. In this world she did not have her powers, and she remembered clearly growing up with these parents. She could remember the day she first found out her family was moving from their manor to Storybrooke. Yet, at the same time she could clearly remember herself -- except not in this form -- placing a curse upon the woman known in the stories as Sleeping Beauty. She could remember both lives so clearly and so simultaneously it sometimes disoriented her. Was one of them nothing more than an illusory sensation that was simply not true? That could not be the case. It simply could not. She remembered the exact feeling of the power that once coursed through the beautiful and delicate porcelain hands that she was staring at. When she thought about it too much, she could even feel the ghosts of the magic coursing through her blood.
The silence of the labyrinthine house was causing her blood to quickly boil. She could not stand being left alone with these thoughts a moment longer. So dressing in a hurried manner, she pet Diablo through his cage (whom she could feel was going through the same crisis. For he too was exactly as she remembered him). "I'll return later my pet." She cooed to the black bird as she left.
This was how she found herself at the docks, staring out into the ocean. At first she felt like screaming at it until peace eventually was restored. But it was unseemly, nor did she want to show emotion like that. Instead she felt herself lulled slowly back into a peaceful state of mind by the crashing of the waves against the shoreline. With her mental capacity of logic finally restored by the repression of pointless frustration and emotion, she turned a fresh eye to the situation. Clearly some form of magic was involved in this. She had been thrust into a new universe in which her form had been altered, but not her substance. She knew this to be the truth because she had seen faces she knew vividly from her old life. Including that damnable Aurora. They for the most part did not recognise her because of the drastic shift in image. This was not a terrible thing in itself. It gave her the element of surprise. For when her powers eventually did return to her (because she would find a way to, even if it meant making another satanic pact), she would have the upper hand against any do-gooder whom would still not recognise whom Severine truely was.
Then out of no where, a woman sprinted off of the edge of the dock that Severine was inhabiting. With a cold glance over, she walked lazily over to the edge and crouched down to look at this person that interrupted her thought process so abruptly and rudely. "Did that solve your problems then? Running into the freezing ocean?" She questioned, her voice rife with the scorn that was so entwined with the essence of Maleficent. She found herself half hoping that the ocean would take up offence to this woman's idiocy and swallow her whole. However, that would just lead to trouble for her. So she extended a hand. "Let me help you up." She stated, making it evident that this was the only way; rather than a helpful request. Even this gesture of kindness was filled with a subtle malevolence. Yes, she still was truly the evil fairy.

Running right off the dock, Evangeline had not even notice that anyone else was here at the docks. All her focus was the water at the end of the dock. The water was freezing cold but it had not bothered Evangeline one bit. When she came up for air that is when she heard a female voice by the way she spoke it seemed that she was annoyed with Evangeline. Slowly she began to swim towards the dock and woman. The one thing that Evangeline didn’t think through was how she was going to get back on land, the docks were quite high but with the woman offering her hand it would be easier. So she took the blonde woman’s hand. “Thanks.” She replied as she pulled herself up and fell backwards laying the dock soak and wet. When she jumped Evangeline had lost one of her sneakers but she didn’t care it was so good to feel alive again. “It’s just so good to feel alive, to be able to interact with others.” She turned her head to look at the woman. Her wet hair clung to her face and a smile crept over. “I don’t know who you are but before this curse I was stuck in a form watching as life went by, now the curse is broke and I do anything.”

For some reason, the woman that had dived straight into the murky depths appeared happy about doing so. How absolutely preposterous that idea was. What had been running through her head that taking such a preposterous course of action. However, Severine did not care enough to actually find out. If a stranger wished to jump into the sea, that was their business. What she did not approve of was doing so in such a manner where she then became responsible for them getting back to land, as the only alternative was swimming to the nearest coastline or where the docks backed onto land.
She did of course hoist up the woman, whom then proceeded to thank her before falling flat on the ground whilst thanking her. Severine responded with a rather distant "You're welcome". On closer inspection, Severine noticed this woman was missing a shoe. It most likely had fallen off during her little foray into the water. How unseemly. Severine would never be caught dead without her shoes on if by some strange twist of fate that dictated she needed to jump off of a pier. She was above such things -- even if they were unavoidable mishaps. Even if she did not have her magic, at least she retained her almost supernatural grace.
The soaking woman then said something most peculiar to her. At first she thought that it was simply drunken rambling. That would have of course explained away her stating that feeling alive was amazing and her diving off of the docks like she was set alight. But then she talked about a curse. Which she did whilst smiling. Severine's face remained impassive. However, it did almost corroborate her theory that there had been a curse or some form of magic that had been behind her sudden lack of powers. That is, if this woman was to believed. Something deep down told her that this was the truth though. There was too much that was unexplained in this town for it not to be. Naturally, this caused a fiery rage to slowly set ablaze her insides. She decided that she would make the person that was responsible for this to pay dearly for robbing her of her powers. Yes. A slow, painful revenge was what was called for. The person or persons responsible would feel the full extent of her scorn; the metaphoric earth would be salted by the time she would be finished with them. She delicately bowed down into a squat, crossing her hands over her legs as she peered down at the wet woman with her cold stare, "A curse you say? Would you care to elaborate for me?"
