It had been her curse to remember everything and to be stuck in wolf form. She had managed to survive attempts from townsfolk trying to kill her. She was the only 'wild' wolf in the area. Since she had been here it had been a lonely life. She spent it mostly in the woods coming out to check on Graham. She hadn't seen Pocahontas or Aladdin or even Hook, not that she wanted to see Hook, but still Graham was the only face she really cared for in this town. He was there for her as she was there for him. The curse had been broken recently, but nothing had happened. No, she was doomed to be stuck as a wolf, or so that was what she had thought.
She didn't understand how the Cricket remained human after the curse broke and how she remained a wolf. Lalinka had lived years on all fours, she was starting to forget what it meant to be human. She kept a hold of her memories those, even the painful ones like her time with Hook and taking and arrow while protecting Graham. The good memories mixed with the bad and it kept her going, kept her from just giving up. When Graham had finally caught on that things in this town were not right she showed to help him. She led him to the graveyard. The last thing she had wanted was Graham to die, but she wasn't sure how much longer she could hold on to herself. The night Graham died she could just tell and howled for hours.
Today, the curse had been broken for a while, but it was the first wolves' day since the curse was broken. She, as a wold, wasn't keeping up with the cycle of the moon. Lalinka didn't even expect the same rules would apply on this world as the other. Her eyes opened to the bright daylight as she was laying in the woods, but it was different. She saw in color, though her sense of smell and hearing seemed to be the same. She started to move as she would in wolf form to get up and it was in this moment she had realized that she was human once more. She stumbled back to the wood's floor as a sound of delight and shock came out from her lips. Her eyes moved across her hands and suddenly she wanted to be in front of a mirror. She looked down to see she was in the clothes she was the last time she was human. It was the same outfit that she had jumped into the waters off Hook's ship in. She knew that fabric anywhere. A small laugh came from her voice in excitement, but she was afraid to speak. She hadn't spoken in over twenty-eight years.
She pushed herself up off the wood's floor by pressing against the near by tree. She blinked her eyes a few times as she took in her environment. The town wouldn't be too far way and she was dying for some human food. She stumbled out of the wood through the park and around some shrubbery that led her to the sidewalk. It felt weird being on to feet and her legs weren't as stable as she would have liked. Lalinka leaned against a light post and looked diagonally across the street where Granny's open sign was light green. There would be a bathroom there for her to pinch herself in front of and food to eat, though she would have no way of paying.
