As Astrid stepped out the door, she felt the cool morning breeze nip at her neck. The first tendrils of dawn reached from beyond the horizon lighting up the sky and sweeping away the shadows of night. It was her favorite part of the day, and she usually enjoyed it at the docks. Something about watching the morning sun and its hues of pinks and oranges reflect off the ocean's surface was so surreal and breathtaking. It was like living in a dream over and over again, and each sunrise was just as splendid as the one before.
Adjusting her blue scarf to keep warm from the morning chill, Astrid walked through Storybroke and towards the docks with a smile. The nun nodded to any other early riser that she passed by. Most nodded back, but not many returned it with a smile, which she found sad. Astrid didn't understand why people rose so early only be so grumpy. She enjoyed all times of the day, but suppose that came with a past that kept her from truly being a part of the world. It was one of the few benefits of the curse, she was to live and be a part of the world, instead of only flying over it. Granted being cursed to live as a nun still had it confines, but watching the sunrise every morning on the ground was quite a different experience than looking down at it through the clouds.
Letting out a breath of relief, Astrid reached the docks mid-sunrise which was a little later than she normally arrived, but nonetheless she was here. Finding a spot where she usually sat at was empty, Astrid hurried over to it so she could enjoy as much as the sunrise as she could. Without bothering to look before she sat, the excited nun smoothed out her skirt so that it did not wrinkle when she sat down on the cool, wooden bench, but a frantic voice interrupted her just as she was about to lower herself to sit. Freezing in place as if a spell had been cast on her, Astrid moved only her eyes looking for where the voice came from. Not seeing anyone, she swallowed hard and furrowed her brow before calling out. "Um, hello?" She really hoped that her ears were not playing tricks on her. It would certainly put a damper on her morning.
