Since Graham/Huntsman had come back from the dead, he and Emma had somewhat spoken to one another. It was more or less talked about what he remembered. Henry and her parents had caught them in a more or less compromising position. Not one that she really wanted anyone to see. For Henry to walk in on them so close to kissing was a bit embarrassing. Then her parents? It felt almost like when she and the kid walked in on David and Mary Margaret. Well not quite like that. Emma and Graham needed some alone time and now she was at least getting her wish. Not that she knew really what was going to happen between them. The sheriff wasn't sure about anything right now. She'd been made the sheriff, her father was the deputy, Graham was back, she had broken the curse and now knew everything about her past. She'd had Neal in her past. Henry's dad. He was the one man she had loved. Hook had come to town on the Jolly Roger and was vying for her affection. Now Graham was in her life again. So much confusion that Emma wasn't sure what she wanted in regards of a relationship right now. Of course she knew her parents were most likely not rooting for Hook, that was for sure. The thought of that caused her to laugh inwardly. Graham had asked her on a date. Of course she jumped at the chance. Not too eagerly of course. Not so that he would know. Her mother had figured it out just by her behavior at the house getting ready. Mary Margaret had helped her pack the picnic basket because she was too busy and nervous preparing herself as it was. When she was done and ready, she sat down at the table and closed her eyes. "I don't know if I should be doing this."

The huntsman was actually nervous. It wasn't something he had felt with Regina. Regina it was all about not being alone, but he never felt anything. It was never really a real relationship, there had been no dates. Back in the forest he didn't really date either. No one really wanted to be with a guy that ran with wolves. He wasn't exactly sure what to where, but a nice pair of jeans dark blue shirt and leather jacket seemed perfect for an outside picnic. He gathered everything he had put together, even went out to the grocery store and bought himself a picnic basket. A few minutes early, the former sheriff nocked on the door of the current sheriff. He held the basket in one hand and ran his fingers through his hair with the other hand. He felt his heart picking up speed. 'maybe i shouldn't be doing this' the though crossed his mind only to have the door open a few seconds later.
He then noticed that Emma had packed a picnic as well and gave a slight laugh as he lifted the picnic basket in his hand a little. He moved into the apartment and placed his basket on the island. He opened the lid to take a piece of paper he had placed in it with the words. 'Snow, Charming, and Henry. Enjoy. ~ Graham' . "well you wanted to pack a picnic, I only thought it fair to pack one for your family. Don't worry there are some pb and js in their from Granny's." He looked around the place, but didn't see any sign of the rest of her family. That was something he quickly got use to, Emma being the daughter of Snow and Charming. It must have been weird for Emma, but for Graham it was almost like fate. It was like he was meant to save Snow and help Charming get snow back so that he might have this moment with Emma tonight. He could have dealt with out having his heart crushed and drying, but non the less he was looking forward to this afternoon.
"You look, amazing, by the way." He placed his arms around her to give her a hug and soft kiss on the lips. "I'm ready when your ready." He wasn't really sure what to say, it wasn't like he really had been on a date. He had hoped his choice of words were not rude. The huntsman tried to peak into the picnic basket only to have it closed on him.

To say she was nervous was an understatement. She had not been 'on a date' with anyone since she'd been with Neal. And truthfully that wasn't a date. The way their relationship started out was a tad unconventional. So in truth had she really ever been on a date? Well her other dates never really made it past one date, so this was a bit awkward for her.
"Graham, you're here.. and you brought a picnic basket." Her voice picked up in tone and then lowered as though she were shocked yet not so much so. But then she laughed. "I thought the women were the supposed to make up the picnic baskets?" He left his basket for her family. He was so used to calling her parents 'Snow' and 'Charming.' Emma was still having a difficult time calling them by those names so she still called them Mary Margaret and David. Mom and Dad seemed too weird for her. "That's nice that you're leaving that for them."
The embrace and the kiss felt wonderful. A small stroke to his cheek as she smiled. "Thanks? But I didn't go to all that much trouble. I got dressed that's all. " Her eyes looked skeptical as she wasn't used to getting compliments. "I'm ready too. Why don't we go?" She picked up the basket and followed him out the door. Slipping into the seat of the Sheriff's car, she'd given Graham the keys. "Let's get you back behind the wheel of the squad car. We're going down by the Toll bridge. I picked out a nice spot."

He smiled as he watched her reaction to the basket in his hand. "Who says a man can't pack a picnic basket?" He had asked before he had set down the basket and grabbed the note from in side it. "Don't worry, this one if for Henry and your parents" Emma then spoke of how she felt about him leaving food for her family. As she spoke he moved toward her and had embraced her, giving her a kiss only to hear her speak about having nothing to do with the basket. He smirked as his hands moved to his side."As long as we are being honest here, I didn't pack mine either, I stopped by granny's, though I did buy the basket" He was nervous and he hoped it hadn't shown. It wasn't like he hadn't kissed Emma before and expressed his interest in her, but they had not actually gone on a date. A date allowed for the two of them to get to know each other and it scared him. As much as he felt Emma was his true love, he knew Emma wasn't one that believed in such things and he was nervous that she might find something in him that would push her away.
The two walk out of the apartment and head down stairs. A moment later he was being tossed the keys to the car. "I don't know Emma, are you sure? Being back behind the wheel may make me change my mind about being Sheriff, may just have to run in the next election." He smirked because he was joking. "It was a joke." He didn't want to be Sheriff or even deputy, he'd figure out something else to do. As of now he was just enjoying being back alive. Graham opened the passenger door. The last time Swan had been in the sherriff's car with him was when she was in the back seat. A smile coming to his face as he could still picture looking through the rear view mirror the look on her face. Even back then there was just something about her he liked. The thoughts went through his head as he adjusted the seat and mirror and headed off. It wouldn't take long for them to get to their destination. Graham pulled over to the side of the car, got out and then walked over to Emma to open her door. He smiled and looked to the ground for a moment then looked back up as he gathered the courage up to say what was on his mind. "Would you like me to carry the basket?"

"O.k. well men can pack a picnic basket, but it's just different." He'd stopped at Granny's. Emma started laughing. "I figured Granny had something to do with it. You have to get used to being back. That's all, Graham." His kiss jumpstarted her heart. Pulling away, she didn't know what to think or how to react to her feelings towards him. What if his were more serious than hers were for him? Now that Neal was back in town, she was even more confused and with Hook, so much was going through Emma's head. David she was sure didn't approve of Hook. That thought alone sometimes make her laugh.
Henry wanted Neal and her back together obviously, but he and Graham were building a relationship as well. She and Henry would have to discuss the issue of the men in her life. Honestly she needed to know how he felt about them all. Because, truthfully no her love life was not his business, but she felt that he did have some input.
When he mentioned the next election, she laughed. "If you wanted the badge back so badly, I'll give it to you right now, Graham." Her smile and laugh was jovial. When he opened the passenger door for her, she leaned up and kissed him then slid into the car. "When was the last time we rode in the car together?" Honestly she couldn't remember. When they pulled up to the toll bridge, she waited for him to get out of the car to open her door. "Sure, if you want to take the basket, I won't stop you." As they walked down to the river, she came to the spot she'd chosen and pulled out the blanket to spread it out.

"I think when I arrested you, but I can't be too sure about that." He had said as the car engine had turned off and he had taken the keys out of the ignition. "And no, I don't want the badge back." He had been gone for seven months. Things had changed during that time period and Emma had been here through those months .She knew what was going on around town better than he did now. People and things could change a lot during those times. He wasn't sure if he really knew anyone anymore. He felt out of his element and the only thing that was keeping him in one piece and making him not think about the consequences of being back was Emma.
He got out of the car and moved around and held her door open. He closed the door once she got out and followed him. "So why here?" His head looked down to the muddy ground as he felt like his foot was getting stuck. His hands holding onto the basket as he followed directly behind Emma. He found himself stopping and watched as Emma layer out the blanket for their picnic. "You know their use to be trolls that lived here, well I mean back in the forest we had a bridge like this. I tried my best to avoid it." He placed the basket down and then lowered himself slowly so that he was sitting on the blanket. His hands opened up the basket to look to see what was inside.

How could he have been any more wonderful than he already was? What she would never understand was that how he could still have feelings for her. But then like Graham had said to her. It was like he had just woken up from fainting. For her it had been seven months. Neal was back, the curse was broken, she and Henry had made further bonds, she was Sheriff now. So many other changes that even Emma couldn't make sense of. Then she walked in and there was Graham on the floor of the station as though he'd never been gone. In truth it made her love him more. Yes, she loved him before, but could not bring herself to admit it. Did she still love him? Yes, she did. But there was Henry to think of. There was confusion running through the Sheriff. "From what my parents said, this is the Troll bridge. The one that they met at." When he asked why this place for their picnic today, she smiled as she placed her hands behind her on the blanket and smiled. "Well, I thought that since this was the place that we solved our first case together. Finding my father who came here to find my mother.." she paused and chuckled. "I thought that this was special for us too." Her mother had told her about fate. Emma had not been so sure on romance in the last ten years. Could anyone really blame her? As he unpacked the basket, she winced slightly at what was coming out. Both red and white wine. "I didn't know which one you wanted." She shrugged. A few chicken salad sandwiches as well as roast beef and chicken sandwiches. "I wasn't sure what you wanted, so I packed everything." For desert there was a few pieces of chocolate cake. Granny's home made cake. "Now that, you didn't get much say in, Graham." She laughed. It was then that she leaned in and kissed him. "I missed you." Graham/Huntsman
