The true knave of hearts as he has wooed many in his time, but in the many years that he has been alive, only two women have ever managed to break through the hard exterior and crawl under his skin and now, one is dead, and the other? well... there are times when a man wants what he can never have and no matter what his head tells him, his heart just won't listen.
Hook is a man of many faces and he wears them well: Pirate, thief, liar, conniver and cad. Reluctant hero, loyal, caring, honest when the mask falls off. The trick is knowing which persona is the real Hook and if you asked him this question, he would have no definitive answer to give. Perhaps that is due to the fact he is still searching for the answers himself, forging his own path to follow to wherever it may lead and if that path one day leads to his death, then so be it, for it is better to have lived life to its fullest and savoring every moment no matter how intrepid those moments are then to have never lived at all.
Hook isn't an easy man to like since he tends to run at the mouth and allow it to speak before his head can tell it to be silent, but once you get past the cavalier facade, you find a man with a good heart that is wrapped up within a shroud of pain and anger, a man who cares too much for some and not enough for others and perhaps just needs a push every now and then in the right direction. So in saying that:
FRIENDS: Well he can count the number of those on one hand (yeah, I know... he only has one hand so hush!) so this is a necessity if he is ever to walk the path towards some sort of redemption and happiness, although he may never truly be happy, but as Rumple once said: Villains don't get happy endings.
ENEMIES: He has plenty of these, I assure you! Those he has crossed, cheated and lied to. Those he has stolen from, betrayed and left to die, but there's always room for those that just don't like his face. Certainly it's a pretty face that someone wants to mess up on general principle, right?
LOVERS: Ah, this is the tricky, situation that he finds himself in, having lost one woman that he truly loved, only to fall for another who doesn't feel the same for him, yet his heart refuses to let go. He's had lovers of course, but none that he has ever been able to love since then. Who knows if a heart so determined to crush itself can ever be saved by anyone, but in a place filled with magic and wonder, there's always that one chance.
